BlackSpace is a marketplace where you can purchase directly from Seller Members in the United States, and we want you to have a positive experience shopping here. Please read on to find out more about your rights, as well as what is expected of you, as a buyer.
The Network Clause: BlackSpace is a brand of BlackSpace LLC. All commerce on this platform is conducted within the BlackSpace Network, a private, mission-aligned, and expressive association of Seller Members. The Network operates as a private forum for the collective exercise of the First Amendment rights of its members and the platform. All policies herein are subordinated to the Network’s Statement of Curatorial Intent and the LLC’s right to control its expressive message.This policy is a part of our Terms of Use. By shopping on BlackSpace, you’re agreeing to this policy and our Terms of Use.
- Unless explicitly identified as being sold by BlackSpace, all products and services available on the platform are offered and sold directly by independent Seller Members, and your purchase forms a contract solely between you and the applicable Seller Member;
- BlackSpace may, in limited circumstances, offer branded merchandise, digital gift cards, or other designated products directly. In those specific instances only, BlackSpace is the seller of record and is responsible solely for those items;
- BlackSpace does not pre-screen items sold on BlackSpace and therefore does not guarantee or endorse any items sold on BlackSpace or any content posted by Seller Members (such as photographs or language used in listings or store policies). Because the Network is an expressive association, the inclusion of any item or content on the platform is an exercise of editorial judgment and does not constitute an endorsement or warranty of the item’s safety, legality, or quality;
- Each Seller Member independently establishes their own pricing, processing times, shipping methods, return policies, and other store policies, and BlackSpace is not responsible for a Seller Member’s failure to fulfill an order or comply with their stated policies; and
- You assume responsibility if you provide your own materials for a custom order.
As a member of the community, you have the opportunity to confidentially flag an item or a store that violates any of BlackSpace’s policies.
Messages
You can use BlackSpace’s Messages (“Messages”) tool to communicate directly with Seller Members. Messages are a great way to ask Seller Members any questions you have about an item or an order. Messages may not be used for the following activities:
- Sending unsolicited advertising or promotions, requests for donations, or spam;
- Harassing or abusing another member or otherwise violating our Anti-Discrimination Policy;
- Contacting someone after they have explicitly asked you not to;
- Interfering with a transaction or the business of another member; or
- Exchanging personal contact, financial or other information for the purposes of evading the checkout process on BlackSpace, including phone number, address, email, social media handles, external URLs, instructions for money transfer, etc.
Always use caution when exchanging any personal information which is not strictly necessary for the completion of a transaction.
Interference
Interference occurs when a member intentionally interferes with another member’s store in order to drive away their business. Interference is strictly prohibited on BlackSpace. Examples of interference include:
- Posting in public areas to demonstrate or discuss a dispute with another member;
- Purchasing from a Seller Member for the sole purpose of leaving a negative review;
- Maliciously clicking on a competitor’s ads in order to drain that member’s advertising budget, also known as “click fraud”.
Harassment and Discrimination
Any use of Messages to harass other members is strictly prohibited. Similarly, Messages may not be used to support or glorify hatred or otherwise violate our Anti-Discrimination Policy.
When you buy from a store on BlackSpace, you’re directly supporting an independent business with its own unique listings, policies, and processing times. By making a purchase from a Seller Member on BlackSpace, you agree that you have:
- Read the item description and store policies, if applicable, before making a purchase;
- Submitted appropriate payment for item(s) purchased; and
- Provided accurate shipping information to the Seller Member.
When purchasing from Seller Members using BlackSpace, buyers may authorize a payment with any major credit or debit card accepted by BlackSpace, with BlackSpace Gift Cards, BlackSpace Credits and BlackSpace Coupons (subject to applicable limitations; see BlackSpace Gift Cards, Credits & Coupons Policy), by certain bank transfer services, through PayPal (where available), Apple Pay, Google Pay, or through Affirm (where available).
By using a third-party service, you may also be subject to an agreement with the third party. Apple Pay is a third-party service provided by Apple Inc. and is subject to the Apple Pay Terms and Conditions. Google Pay is a third-party service provided by Google Payment Corp. and is subject to the Google Pay Terms of Service for US users, non-US users, and India residents.
For the safety of our community, and to avoid scams and fraud, all transactions must take place through the BlackSpace checkout system, and only transactions that take place through the BlackSpace checkout system are eligible for our review.
It is prohibited to share contact information for the purposes of evading the checkout system on BlackSpace. If you need to discuss the details of your order with your Seller Member, please keep your communication on the BlackSpace platform (via Messages).Reviews are a great way to learn about a Seller Member’s items, help good Seller Members build a strong reputation, or help warn other buyers about a poor experience.
You can leave a review of your purchase for approximately 100 days after your item’s estimated delivery date. If an estimated delivery date is not available, the review window opens after the order’s processing time and shipping time have elapsed. You can edit your review any number of times during that approximate 100-day period. Your review and profile information will be publicly displayed on the Seller Member’s listing and review pages.
By leaving a review you acknowledge that your content must comply with our rules for Creating and Uploading Content in Section 5, and that your review may not:
- Contain graphic, mature, or obscene language or imagery, or any content that is subject to our Mature Content Policy;
- Be about things outside the Seller Member’s control, such as a shipping carrier, BlackSpace, or a third party;
- Include shilling or otherwise falsely inflate a store’s review score; or
- Undermine the integrity of the reviews system.
By uploading a video or photograph to one of BlackSpace’s websites or BlackSpace’s mobile app, you warrant that:
- You own the content or you have the rights or permission to use the content; and
- You understand that, as stated in BlackSpace’s Terms of Use, BlackSpace has license to use any content you provide to BlackSpace.
Seller Members may also respond to reviews. Seller Member’s responses to reviews must also comply with this policy. Seller Members may report reviews that violate our Terms of Use.
We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our policies or Terms of Use.

Buyer Resolution
In most cases, an order issue can be worked out directly with the Seller Member, or an item can be returned under the Seller Member’s return policy. When an order does not arrive, Buyer Resolution is how BlackSpace can help.
BlackSpace is a multiseller marketplace. Each order is fulfilled by the individual Seller Member who made the sale, and BlackSpace does not ship items or control their delivery. Buyer Resolution is a recourse-and-refund process, not a delivery guarantee, and any assistance BlackSpace provides under it is offered at BlackSpace’s sole discretion.
After a sale, BlackSpace holds the Seller Member’s share rather than paying it out right away — 72 hours for instant-download digital orders, and 21 days for all other orders, including physical orders. An order counts as instant-download digital only when every item in it is set up as a digital download — a downloadable, non-shipped item with a digital file attached. An order that includes anything that ships receives the 21-day window.
During that period the money stays under BlackSpace’s control. If your order has not arrived, contact BlackSpace during the hold period, and BlackSpace can refund you, to your original payment method, from the funds it still holds. Once the period passes, the Seller Member is paid and a refund from held funds is no longer available; if you paid by card, you may still have separate dispute rights with your card issuer.
In a cart with items from more than one Seller Member, each Seller Member’s share is held and handled on its own, based on that Seller Member’s items.
For full details, see our Buyer Resolution Policy.
For an order that arrived but is damaged or not as described, see the Seller Member’s return policy in their Store Policies. Options may also be available through your payment provider.
Ineligible Orders
Buyer Resolution does not apply to:
- Orders you received, including orders that arrived later than expected because of shipping delays.
- Orders fulfilled by local pickup, which are an in-person handoff with no shipment record.
- Transactions not processed through BlackSpace Payments, such as an offsite transaction.
- Orders raised after that order’s hold period has passed.
Eligible buyers must have a registered BlackSpace account in good standing, meaning you are not violating any of BlackSpace’s policies. BlackSpace may limit, pause, or decline a refund where the record shows a pattern that suggests the process is being misused.
Requesting a Cancellation
Only Seller Members may cancel transactions. Buyers may request that a Seller Member cancel an order via Messages. Note that all cancellations must comply with our Anti-Discrimination Policy.
Returning an Item
Each Seller Member has their own return policies, which should be outlined in their Store Policies. Not all Seller Members accept returns. For returns on digital items, please see the Seller Member’s listing.
If you reside in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may be entitled to a 14-day “cooling off period”, or a “right of withdrawal”, during which you may return an item for any reason.
